Brain and Body AI Inc. · Houston, Texas
Care for the ones who care.
HappySoul.AI is a caregiver-first platform that stays with patients and families after discharge. It helps them understand recovery, read every medical bill, and question what does not look right. All of it on their own device.
A proof of concept · Designed in Texas for all Americans
The state of the caregiver crisis
A national problem hiding in plain sight.
Twelve chronic conditions account for most of the $5.3 trillion the United States spends on health care each year. Five of them, dementia, stroke, brain injury, kidney failure and cancer, are carried largely by families, for years, across many providers and a wall of insurance paperwork.
- 63Mfamily caregivers in the U.S., up 45% in ten years
- $1Tof unpaid care in 2024, more than total Medicaid spending
- 22%of caregivers trained for the medical tasks they perform
- $220Bin medical debt; 41% of adults carry some
- 3.6MMedicare Advantage denials unchallenged in 2024, yet 4 in 5 appeals succeed
Why it persists. The health system measures, pays for and digitises one relationship: patient and clinician. The caregiver who coordinates six providers, reads the Explanation of Benefits and files the appeal is, in the National Academies’ words, “almost invisible.”

Why now
The pieces finally exist.
Policy
Hospitals in 45 states must now identify and train a family caregiver before discharge, and Medicare has begun paying for caregiver training and dementia care coordination.
Technology
Small AI models now run on an ordinary phone or laptop, so a family’s bills and records can be analysed without ever leaving the household.
Experience
Twenty years of strategy and payments leadership, combined with five years of deep caregiving experience supporting his wife and family.
Our approach · a 360° view of the journey
One shared view, in the family’s hands.
HappySoul.AI gives the patient and caregiver a single, private condition profile and builds everything else around it.
Knowledge Hub
Plain-language guidance tied to the discharge summary, for twelve chronic conditions.
30-60-90 day check-in
A recovery tracker that asks the right questions at the right time and flags what should be raised with the care team.
Bill & benefits workspace
Reads each bill and Explanation of Benefits, matches them line by line, flags what does not fit and drafts the question or appeal.
Wellness space
Therapy routines, reminders and a place for the caregiver’s own wellbeing.
Research channel
An opt-in, de-identified way for families to contribute the post-discharge outcomes clinical research rarely captures.
Built on-device
Analysis runs on the family’s own phone or computer. No identifiable data leaves the household.
Guiding principles & values
What we ask to be measured by.
Six commitments. They apply to everyone who designs, builds, tests or uses the proof of concept, and they come before any feature.
Privacy, by law
Collect the minimum. Keep it on the family’s device by default. Explicit, reversible consent before anything is shared.
Designed in Texas for all Americans
Family-first and built for every community: urban or rural, any income, any language.
Accessible and senior-friendly
WCAG 2.2 AA at minimum. Large text, simple steps, voice, captions, English and Spanish.
Licensed tools and clean work
Everything used to design and build is properly licensed and disclosed.
Data stays in the USA
Pilot and post-launch data is stored and processed in the United States. Personal data is never sold.
Giving back
Once established, a share of revenue goes to foundations and non-profits focused on chronic conditions and brain research.
Grit, Curiosity and Humility. In God and Humanity we trust our lives.
These principles are statements of intent, reviewed with counsel before any real health information is used. They are not a legal contract or a guarantee.
Evidence & measurable outcomes
What we measure, and why it should move.
Supporting the caregiver already pays for itself. It has simply never been delivered as everyday infrastructure.
| Outcome | National baseline | How HappySoul.AI moves it |
|---|---|---|
| Share of insurance denials appealed | 11.5% (Medicare Advantage, 2024) | Pre-drafted, rule-cited appeals from the EOB itself |
| Dollars returned to households | 80.7% of appeals succeed | Line-level bill, EOB and policy matching |
| 30-day readmission (stroke, heart failure) | 9.7% / 19.7% | 30-60-90 tracker and a trained caregiver at discharge |
| Caregivers trained for medical tasks | 22% | Condition-specific hub tied to the discharge summary |
| Upstream risk control (BP, glucose, weight) | Hypertension 47%, obesity 40% of adults | Home logging shared with the clinician |
| Caregiver-reported outcomes in research | 8.8% of Alzheimer’s trials | Opt-in de-identified journey data for registries |
About the founder
Murahary (Hary) Jagannathan
Founder, Brain and Body AI Inc. · Houston, Texas
Hary spent twenty years in banking and payments, leading risk, fraud and analytics teams for some of the largest financial institutions in the United States and Europe.
For the past five years he has also been a full-time caregiver for his wife. He learned the system from the inside: the discharge that comes with no instructions, the bills that arrive in the wrong order, the denial letter no one explains, and the long, quiet work of recovery at home.
HappySoul.AI brings those two lives together, applying on-device AI to give caregivers and families a reason for hope and strength.
Roadmap
Where this goes next.
- Step 1
Validate
Structured review of the prototype by clinicians, billing and policy reviewers.
- Step 2
Pilot
Carefully scoped pilots with health systems and rehabilitation centres, Texas first, starting with stroke and brain-injury families.
- Step 3
Scale
Extend across the twelve conditions and open the de-identified research channel to registries and investigators.
Partner with us
Help us prove it.
The prototype is ready for structured review. Over the next twelve months we are looking for:
- Health systems and rehabilitation centres to pilot discharge onboarding and the 30-60-90 tracker.
- Billing, coding and policy reviewers to score detection, false flags and traceability.
- Research institutions and advocacy organisations to define the first caregiver-reported outcome set.
Technology and healthcare investors who share this mission are welcome to start a conversation.
